Academy News

Hello, fellow football fans. It’s rare, if someone posts a blog about their club’s academy. Such a shame, because there could be a lot of talent down in the academy’s. So guess what I’m doing? Talking about the Blue’s academy today. The club is through to the quarters of the FA Youth Cup after a 2-0 win over Torchwood FC, err Cardiff. Next up for the club is Watford or Ipswich.

There were goals from Mitch McPike and Jack Rutter that sealed the win for the team. From the club’s website: Academy manager Terry Westley said after the match “This is the second time in three seasons that our youth team have got through to the quarter finals which is an excellent achievement.”

He went on to say: “We played ever so well in the first half and looked dangerous in attack with Jake Jervis and Robert Gradwell, very creative with Mitch McPike and Ashley Sammons in midfield and solid as a rock at the back.”

And to further what he was saying: “But we’re now in the last eight and the players and the staff deserve a lot of credit for what they’ve achieved”
